Shades of Night
Sylvia Lim's 'Shades of Night' (2024), commissioned and performed by Rubiks Collective for the 2022 Pythia Prize.
"Shades of Night contemplates the strange beauty of nocturnal spaces. The work explores our perception in the dark, evoking the indistinct and elusive, the transient and introspective. Paired with visual concepts by Allison Chhorn, the work invites us to consider our relationship to darkness, the transfiguration of once familiar environments, and moments of mystery we might encounter".
